I think younger offenders should get lesser sentences because they're still changing and deciding what kind of person they want to be, whereas someone in their 40's is a lot less likely to grow into a decent person.

Actually I think putting people in cages is wrong altogether, but then again I don't have an alternative that isn't hopelessly impractical.
