LOVELAND - Students in Loveland High School will know by August if they are taking a survey on substance abuse.

Kevin Boys, superintendent of Loveland City Schools, mobilized the Loveland Drug and Alcohol Task Force to garner information on drug and alcohol habits among high-school students.

The committee is comprised of administrators, parents and community member, such as Pastor Bill Hounshell of New Hope Baptist Church.

"We need data," said Nancy Mulvey, a parent on the committee. "We need to find out what our community is doing, what our students are doing ... so we can use this information and take steps."

The committee has recommended that school officials use the Pride survey, a tool issued by 104 local schools to gauge substance use of students.

"The Pride survey is one of the most reputable surveys they use," Mulvey said.

Boys said he will make an official recommendation on the survey to the Loveland City Schools Board of Education in August.

Jody Martin, a mother of two, says there's no need for a program or a task force. Her daughter recently returned from rehab.

Loveland High School is filled with drugs, she said, and kids are getting high off household drugs like painkillers and Robitussin.

"Let's get parents who want to know and want to know what to do, because, let's face it, it's up to the parent to take care of their own."

try to come up with a better name for an organisation than that.

TRY it.

From this, a unit of measure was defined as "the length of a man's arms around the object of his affections" (i.e., the circumference of an embrace). This was about 6 feet, give or take, depending on the size of one's arms and of the object of one's affections.
